When he was 14, Stanislav Kojokin immigrated to Canada from Isreal with his family, after having moved there from Ukraine. By the time he reached his teenage years, Kojokin was well aware of the sacrifices his parents had made and the risks they’d taken in order to provide him with ample opportunity to succeed. Watching their example, he realized that nothing was impossible—so long as he was willing to take risks and make sacrifices himself.

That is how Kojokin found himself on the path to becoming a lifeguard… despite not knowing how to swim. It was through sheer determination that he achieved his goal, becoming a lifeguard on his sixth attempt at the course. Failure was not a word in Kojokin’s vocabulary, which set a precedent to how he would approach his future career as well.

The Key to Success

Kojokin graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting. It wasn’t until he started to pursue his career goals that he discovered his passion for the insurance industry and customer service.

After getting rejected from what seemed like the ultimate job at the time, Kojokin recognized an opportunity. Taking the lessons he learned from his childhood about never giving up and not being afraid to take risks, he founded KASE Insurance with his fellow Ryerson graduate and business partner, Arian Ebrahimi.

They realized that in order to build an award-winning commercial insurance brokerage, they would need an equally amazing team. 2019 became a significant year of growth and success for KASE Insurance, which would not have been possible without the team of all-stars behind Kojokin.

Staying Ahead of the Game

Stanislav Kojokin was asked by Canadian Underwriter during the 2019 Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) Convention how the broker distribution channel will evolve. He recognizes that in order to keep up with changes in the Canadian insurance landscape over the next three to five years, brokers will need to specialize.
