KASE Cares: Blue Devils Dare to Dream

Sports are often the lifeblood of a community, and this is especially true when cities rally around their soccer teams. The beautiful game brings people from all walks of life together and provides them with opportunities to grow as athletes and people. 

In Oakville, Ontario, the Blue Devils FC embodies this with their “Dare to Dream Cup” tournament in which outside organizations can pay to enter a team and have that money go towards providing opportunities for youth players. 

If there are two things the KASE Insurance team loves, it’s soccer and giving back to the community—we couldn’t miss this opportunity to get involved! 

How KASE Got Involved 

The “Dare to Dream Cup” allows interested companies or organizations to enter a team of 10 players for a $5000 donation. From there, they are assigned two Blue Devils players as part of their team for the day as well as one celebrity. 

Matches in the tournament are quarter-field, last 30 minutes, and follow a 7 v 7 format that is more condensed than traditional soccer. The KASE squad left it all on the pitch and finished 2nd out of the 16 teams in participation. 

The money goes to the Blue Devils Foundation, a registered charity dedicated to breaking down financial barriers for players and families. The foundation’s Board of Directors allocates funding across three key areas: 

• Needs-based financial assistance
• Free-to-play development camps in lesser-served communities
• The Cleats for Kids initiative, which collects and distributes new and gently used soccer equipment to players who need it most

While a first-place finish would have been exciting, what really matters is how our entry donation will go toward making soccer more accessible to young athletes. 

How You Can Give Back to the Community 

If you’d like to do your part to make soccer everyone’s game, you can donate an amount of your choosing to the Blue Devils Foundation. You could also enter as an individual player or team of 10 in the “Dare to Dream Cup” if you so choose!
