If you want to accelerate your career growth, you need to stop thinking about day one stuff. Instead think year one, and beyond.
For example, take this job posting. We are a boutique commercial insurance brokerage that is in search for Commercial Account Manager to help us become as big as our dreams.
As a result, you will too! That’s the stuff that’s beyond year one.
If you are interested, here is what year one is all about. For an award-winning Account Manager, this is the stuff of dreams- getting out of the day to day repetitiveness and making a difference.
• Manage the commercial book of business by working directly with Producers and Insurance companies on our commercial accounts. Upgrade all the processes and procedures to help us adapt to the growth that our brokerage is experiencing.
• Take over the rebuilding and processing of the admin side of the company including review of renewals, endorsements, cancellations, billing, certificates, binders, quoting, cross-selling, up-selling and general inquiries including phone calls and emails.
• Represent KASE Insurance at industry events, build relationships with the insurance carriers.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to new producers and other associates.
Realistically, we need someone with an insurance designation and at least five years of commercial experience. Most important is a hands-on understanding of the commercial insurance products.
If you pull this off, the success of KASE Insurance and its partners, future industry rewards and recognition will be a direct result of your hard work and dedication.
While this is all the year one and beyond stuff, Day one is pretty good too. These are things like the compensation, the company, the people, and the location. However, none of this matter unless “Year One and Beyond” makes career sense for you.
